Updated March 23, 2017

Before you can apply to take your practical driving test in the United Kingdom, you'll need to pass the theory test. You must score well on the two-part theory test in order to pass. The first part of the theory test consists of multiple choice questions and the second part has to do with hazard perception. It's wise to take the theory practice test so you get a good idea of what you'll need to know.

Call 0870 0101 372 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays. You cannot book a test by phone on weekdays that fall on a holiday.

Explain to the operator that you'd like to book your theory test. Make sure you know the days that you are available to take the test before calling. Otherwise confirming a date and missing it could cause you to have to pay extra fees.
