How to Access Toshiba M700 BIOS

Updated February 21, 2017

The basic input/output system (BIOS) controls basic hardware and boot functions on your computer. Toshiba Portege M700-series laptops allow you to access the BIOS upon start-up so you can configure your computer's settings. Always read the onscreen instructions carefully when making changes within the BIOS, as small changes there can seriously affect the way your computer operates. You can access certain hardware settings without going into the BIOS by using the Toshiba Assist utility built into your Portege computer.

Shut down your computer completely.

Press the "Esc" key and hold it down while powering on your laptop.

Release the "Esc" key when the system beeps and a dialogue window appears.

Press F1 to enter the BIOS.
