Websites or organisations and businesses that host a large number of events can benefit greatly from an online calendar. These calendars provide vital information about events including location, times and dates. There are a few ways to create a calendar in Dreamweaver. Using a Dreamweaver calendar extension is a quick way to create and update a Dreamweaver calendar. Extension files are small applications or programs that work inside of Dreamweaver.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Locate a Dreamweaver calendar extension to use. There are some links to calendar extensions in the Resources section of this article. Dreamweaver calendar extensions vary in price depending on the company and the amount of options available.

  2. 2

Download the file and double-click to install the file or open Adobe Extension Manager and install the file from there. Dreamweaver must be closed during the install and opened afterward or be restarted after the install.

  3. 3

Open Dreamweaver and select the website on which you want to install the calendar.

  4. 4

Create a new page or open the page where you would like the calendar to appear. Click inside the page where the calendar will be placed.

  5. 5

Click on the "Insert" tab. Select the name of the company or the name of the extension you downloaded. Choose "Insert Calendar."

  6. 6

Format and design the calendar in the window that opens. Most calendar extensions will allow you to choose the month and the year. The extension will automatically insert the days. You will also be able to choose the size, language, font style, colours and the layout of the calendar. Some calendars will allow users to log in and add items, edit items and change the layout. You will need to set up the users and the passwords in Dreamweaver.

  7. 7

Click "Insert" or "OK" when you are done formatting.

  8. 8

Click on the days you want to add an event or information and type the text. Hyperlinks can be created in these links to direct people to more information.

  9. 9

Save your page by selecting "File" and "Save." Upload the calendar page to your website by clicking on the up arrow on the top of the editing window.

  10. 10

Create a button or link to the calendar page in the nav pane of your site.

Tips and warnings

  • Some extensions offer scroll options for the viewer. This lets people chose the month they need without having an entire page of small calendars.
  • Not all calendar extensions work with all versions of Dreamweaver. Check to make sure your version is supported before you buy or download.
