VMware software lets you operate virtual machines on your laptop or desktop. When you have this application, you can run other versions of your current operating system or a completely separate operating system. The VMware snapshot captures a previous state of your computer so if your software has an issue, you can use the VMware program to bring it back to an earlier point in time. When you no longer have a use for previous VMware snapshots, you can remove them from your computer.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Start the VMware software. Go to your "Programs" folder. Right-click on the Virtual Machine.

  2. 2

Click on the word "Snapshot" and then open the "Snapshot Manager."

  3. 3

Find the snapshot you want to remove and click "Delete."

Tips and warnings

  • If you want to get rid of each snapshot on your computer system, choose the "Delete All" option and then click "Delete" to get rid of each VMware snapshot on your device.
