How to make Classic Google my Homepage

Updated July 20, 2017

The Google home page has many customisation options for returning users and those who have Google.com as their home page. Among those features is iGoogle, which provides a custom layout of widgets and information. To make the classic Google search your home page, iGoogle must not be set as the default for the page.

Open your Web browser and navigate to the "Tools" or "Privacy" option. Depending on your browser, this is located under either "Tools" or "Preferences."

Ensure that cookies are enabled and can be accepted. To protect your privacy, block third party cookies that originate from ads or external images.

Navigate to Google in your browser (see Resources) and click the "Classic Home" link in the top right corner of the window to return to classic Google. With cookies now enabled, when you return to Google.com, it will display the classic Google home page. If you wish to enable iGoogle again, click the link in the top right corner.
