How to make a dodecahedron out of paper

A dodecahedron is a regular geometric solid formed by 12 pentagonal faces, 20 vertices and 30 edges. It is one of the five geometric solids that can be made using a single regular polygon for the face while having the same number of these polygons meet at the corners. Dodecahedra are frequently used in modern role-playing games as 12-sided dice.

  • Paper
  • Printer
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions

  1. 1

    Print out a dodecahedron pattern or create your own (see link in the Resources section).

  2. 2

    Cut out the pattern with the scissors, following the lines.

  3. 3

    Fold the pattern along the edges of each pentagon.

  4. 4

    Place some glue on each tab and glue the dodecahedron model together.
