How to Disable a Mouse Pointer

Updated April 17, 2017

There are certain occasions when you wouldn't want the mouse pointer to be visible. Maybe you are giving a presentation or possibly recording video off of your computer. Whatever the case may be, there are ways to disable the mouse pointer, such as by modifying the files or editing the registry. The simplest solution, however, is by using a program called Nomousy.

Download the latest version of Nomousy (see Resources).

Unzip the contents of the ZIP file to a location on your computer.

Right-click on "nomousy.exe," and select "Create shortcut" to create a shortcut in the folder you are in.

Right-click on the shortcut you created, and go to "Properties." Add "/hide" to the end of the target field. It should read "C:\Users\Me\Desktop\nomousy.exe /hide" for this example. Click "OK." Refer to the readme.txt file for a list of all the commands you can use.

Run the modified shortcut to hide your mouse pointer per the example.

Run the normal nomousy.exe to make your mouse pointer appear again. You can use your keyboard and arrow keys to highlight the file and press "Enter" to run it.
