How to Make a PlayStation 2 Memory Card Into a USB Flash Drive

Updated February 21, 2017

The PlayStation 2 memory card works just like a standard flash memory card, however it is designed to only fit into the memory card slot on a Sony PS2. However, it is possible to convert the PS2 memory card into a USB based flash drive, as long as you have the correct PS2 to USB adaptor. This adaptor may be purchased at most local electronic and video game stores.

Plug the USB end of the adaptor into one of the USB ports on the computer. It does not matter which USB connection port you use.

Insert the memory card into the memory card slot on the adaptor. Momentarily, the computer states it has detected a new, removable device.

Click on the Desktop "My Computer" icon and double-click on the removable device icon. Files can now be swapped between the memory card and the computer.
