When you are watching videos with the Windows Media Player program you can adjust the settings of the video so that it appears on the screen the way you want it to. The video settings include contrast, hue and brightness options that you adjust using a slider tool. If the brightness doesn't work well when adjusting the slider tool, then you may have problems with the video acceleration feature. You also may need to reset the settings so that you can use the brightness slider to meet your preferences.
