You might have taken up a program of regular brisk walking to maintain or improve your health. After all, according to the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, a brisk 30-minute or more walk every day can help control your weight, lower cholesterol and strengthen your heart. The council recommends that people set a goal to walk for 10,000 steps per day at least five days a week. You can count these steps with a pedometer. After walking for a while, you may lose some weight or change your stride length, which means you'll want to reset your Omron Walking Style Pedometer.
