Paralettes are easy-to-make home gymnastics equipment. They are sturdy parallel bars that are lifted a few inches from the ground and can be used for push-ups and for practicing parallel bar exercises, such as handstands.
Use the hacksaw to cut the 10-foot length of pipe to the following lengths: eight pieces 4.5-inches long, four pieces 5-inches long, two pieces 14-inches long.
Attach one 14-inch piece of PVC between two of the elbows. Repeat with the other 14-inch piece and elbows. These are the hand pieces of the parallettes.
Attach the 5-inch pieces of PVC to the other end of each elbow. Attach the top hole of each tee to the other end of each 5-inch piece.
Attach a 4.5-inch piece of PVC to each of the open ends of the tees. Cap the ends of these pieces.
