DuPont Corian countertops provide attractive and durable surfaces that many homeowners install in kitchens and bathrooms. Not only will you find a wide variety of colours from which to choose, but your choice in a Corian countertop should stay beautiful for years. You bond the dense Corian to wood using a fast-setting epoxy adhesive. After a brief curing time, the bond will be strong and ready to use.
Sand the bonding surface of the Corian countertop with fine-grit sandpaper to create a rough surface for bonding. Wipe the surface with the cloth to remove dust.
Open the dual glue tubes of the epoxy glue. Squeeze both tubes simultaneously onto the sanded Corian surface to apply the epoxy glue to the surface. Spread the glue with the accompanying spreader, if necessary, to coat the entire surface evenly.
Affix the Corian to the wood surface within approximately 4 minutes of applying the glue. If you wait longer than this, the glue will not adhere.
Clamp the two surfaces together with the C-clamps to hold them securely. Leave the clamps in place for at least 1 hour.
Remove the C-clamps after the hour elapses, if you desire. Leave the glued surfaces undisturbed for 24 hours.
Optimal temperature for gluing is between 68F and 77F. Remove excess adhesive with white spirit.
