How to Open Dell DHP PC Cases

Updated February 21, 2017

Dell DHP computer systems come in a variety of models with various specifications. Each DHP system uses the same type of small form factor computer case. When upgrading components such as video cards, modems, memory or other items, the case must be opened to provide access. It is important to follow the correct steps when opening the case of a Dell DHP system to avoid damaging the case or internal components.

Turn the computer off. Turn off any connected peripherals such as printers or scanners.

Press the two release buttons located on the top and bottom of the case near the rear of the unit.

Raise the back of the cover. Lift it toward the front of the computer to open fully.

Place the computer on an open flat surface away from the edges of the desk or table to prevent the system from falling during service.
