Bosch built-in ovens are designed to increase heat distribution to provide shorter cooking times. The ovens have a self-cleaning mode that burns off spilt and spattered food, eliminating the need for scrubbing and the use of harsh chemicals. Some of the ovens are equipped with touch keys. One of the few tasks that must be performed manually on a Bosch oven is replacing the light bulbs.

Instructions

    Replace the Bulb on the Ceiling

  1. 1

    Turn off the main power supply to the oven at the fuse or breaker box to prevent burns or electrical shock. The light sockets in the oven are live when the door is open.

    Turn the glass bulb cover on the ceiling counterclockwise to remove it. Grasp the halogen bulb and pull downward to remove it.

  3. 3

    Place a new halogen bulb into the socket and push upward to insert it. Position the glass cover over the bulb and turn clockwise to tighten it.

    Turn on the main power supply at the fuse or breaker box.

    Replace the Bulb on the Sidewall

    Turn off the main power supply to the oven at the fuse or breaker box to prevent burns or electrical shock. The light sockets in the oven are live when the door is open.

    Push the mounting clip on the top of the glass cover toward the oven wall and remove the cover. Grasp the halogen bulb and pull it to the side to remove it.

    Insert a new halogen bulb into the light socket. Insert the glass cover into the lower mounting clip and push the top of the cover toward the oven wall until it locks into place.

    Turn on the main power supply at the fuse or breaker box.

Tips and warnings

  • Replace Bosch oven light bulbs with 10 Watt, 12 Volt bi-pin halogen light bulbs.
  • Handle new halogen light bulbs with a clean, dry cloth to extend the life of the bulb.
