How to Repair a Scratched TFT Monitor

Thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) is a type of LCD (liquid crystal display). The TFT-LCD screen utilises the thin-film transistor (TFT) technology for the purposes of an improvement in contrast and the quality of image, over analogue television set screens. TFT-LCD screens are used in devices such as computer monitors, television sets, mobile phones, portable video game systems and projectors. LCD screens are prone to damage such as scratches. If your TFT-LCD screen is scratched, you can use simple household items to fix the damage.

Wipe down the LCD screen with a soft, non-abrasive hand towel, removing any dust and lint.

Place petroleum jelly onto a cotton swab and apply it to the scratch.

Rub the jelly into the scratch, using the cotton swab.

Wipe off the petroleum jelly residue with a non-abrasive hand towel. After the wipe down, the scratches will disappear.
