Syncing your BlackBerry and Windows Calendar together is just a way to make sure that both calendars have the same information. That way, whether you are sitting at your computer or out on the road with your BlackBerry, you won't miss important appointments because the information was on the wrong device. For years BlackBerrys could not sync with the basic Windows Calendar program, meaning people had to export their calendar to a different program in order to sync it with a BlackBerry. But BlackBerrys now support syncing to the calendar through the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

Start the BlackBerry Desktop Manager program by double-clicking on the icon.
Plug your BlackBerry in to your computer using the USB cable. If a message appears on your BlackBerry asking if you want to enter "Mass Storage Mode," just select "No."
Click "Organizer" on the left side of the Desktop Manager screen.
Select "Configure Settings" under the "Synchronization Settings" area on your screen. A progress bar will appear, followed by a small window.
Place a check mark next to "Calendar."
Click "Windows 7 Native Application" on the next window and then press "Next."
Choose which way to sync the data. A two-way sync will add all entries to both calendars, and one-way syncs will erase all data in the target calendar before writing the new information. Click "Next" to continue.
Decide if you want to sync all items, future calendar items, or only items for a select range of days. Click "Next" to continue. Then click "Finish" and then "OK" to get back to the Organizer screen.
Click the "Sync" button on the lower-right corner of the window. A progress bar will appear. Click "Accept" to import the new changes to your calendar. When the progress bar finishes, your calendars are now synced.
