The Netgear GSM7224 is a network switch used for networking multiple computers. This switch has 24 ports and a transfer rate of up to two gigabytes per second. Switches have the ability to inspect data packets as they are sent and route them to the appropriate network device. This feature saves network bandwidth and allows your network to have a higher overall speed. The main difference between a router and a switch is that the switch is unable to share Internet connections and cannot connect to multiple networks.
