Blue Coat's K9 Web Filter is a program that allows you to block or censor websites that contain derogatory content. However, Web filters are not absolutely efficient because they sometime inadvertently block websites that do not contain illicit content. If you feel that the K9 Web Filter is blocking too many safe websites, you can disable it.

    Click the "Start" button, "All Programs" and select "K9 Web Filter."

    Enter your administrator password to log in.

    Click "Web Site Exceptions" in the left column. In the text area, type the website's URL you wish to allow, and click "Add." Do this for every website you do not want the K9 Web Filter to block.

    Click the "Monitor" radio button under "Protection Level" on the left column. This will prevent the K9 Web Filter from blocking all websites.

    Go to the links on the left side of the screen and click "Advanced." Select from the drop-down menu the amount of time you want the K9 Web Filter to be in this mode, and click "Enter Supervisor Mode." Supervisor modes temporarily disables the K9 Web Filter
