How to Connect a Phone Extension

Updated July 20, 2017

Cordless telephones have made the problem of short telephone wires almost a thing of the past. However, there are a few situations where extending the telephone wire length so that you can position your home telephone to your taste is still required. Luckily, telephone extension cables are both cheap and easy to install, allowing you to run as much telephone wire as necessary without requiring any tools or wiring skills.

Unplug your existing phone cable from the wall socket using the release clip on the cable's plug.

Plug the extension cable into the wall socket until it's secured correctly.

Run the extension cable to the desired location.
