Things you need
- Glass mixing bowl
- 1/2 cup beeswax pastilles
- 1/2 cup coconut carrier oil
- Disposable stirrers
- Assorted lip gloss pots
- Assorted flavour oils
- Assorted colourant oils
Add the beeswax pastilles and coconut carrier oil to the glass bowl. Microwave the bowl on high for four minutes so the beeswax and oil melt together into a thin, clear liquid.
Remove the bowl and let it cool slightly. The oil content will keep the beeswax from hardening. It creates a smooth glossy base instead.
Put a spoonful of the warm mixture into each lip gloss pot. Depending on the size of pots you use, the amount of materials needed will vary. Just remember regardless of the recipe, use one part oil to one part wax for lip gloss.
Squeeze one drop of colourant into each pot of gloss. Colours such as red, pink, purple and blue are common and tint the mixture with its hue.
Squeeze two drops of flavouring into each lip gloss pot. Coconut, strawberry, chocolate and banana are popular choices.
Stir each lip gloss pot with a disposable stirrer. Alternatively, you can have the children mix their own lip gloss pots, giving them one of each flavour for a kit.
Let each pot cool for an hour. It will set into a silky, flavoured gloss that kids will enjoy.
