As cities and towns expand and new suburbs are introduced, maps must be adjusted to accommodate the changes. When you purchase a Garmin GPS, it comes with maps already pre-installed on the device. Although these devices interact with a satellite to get your current position, this interaction doesn't update the actual maps on the device. To update maps on a Garmin Nuvi 360, you must download Garmin's proprietary software to a computer system.

Download and install Garmin WebUpdater, then launch the software. (See Resources for download link.)
Connect the Garmin Nuvi 360 to the computer with a USB sync cable. Insert the small end of the cable into the Garmin's USB port. Insert the other end of the cable into the computer's USB port.
Confirm that you want to update the Nuvi 360 when prompted by WebUpdater. The software will then download any available updates to the Garmin device.
