The Canon ImageRunner 2200 is one of a line of black and white copiers popular in the business world. Like many monochrome copiers, the Canon ImageRunner 2200 uses a toner cartridge to put ink on the page and deliver the quality users expect. When the toner cartridge begins to run low, the quality of the printouts will suffer and the pages will begin to look faded. The toner cartridge should be checked and changed if necessary whenever you notice any of these symptoms.

  1. 1

Pull the handle on the front of the ImageRunner 2200 to open the front door. Pull down the blue lever.

  2. 2

Grasp the toner box by its handles and pull it out until it stops. Remove the new toner cartridge from the box it shipped in.

Shake the cartridge vigorously to distribute the toner powder evenly. Sit the toner cartridge on top of the toner box and push it back as far as it can go.

  4. 4

Push the toner cartridge down until it locks onto the toner box. Pull the black cartridge knob until you see a stop sign symbol.

  5. 5

Tap the top of the toner cartridge and allow it to empty into the toner box. Push the toner box handle back to its original position.

  6. 6

Remove the empty toner cartridge from the machine and push the toner box back in place. Put the blue handle back in its original position and close the front door.
