Foreign films are now readily available around the world in DVD format. And they're not just from Western European countries, either. We now have movies readily available from far-flung places, including Russia. However, because these movies are usually created in their native languages, you'll need to adjust the DVD settings so that English subtitles or English voice overs are present. This is a simple adjustment that you can make by navigating to the DVD's main menu and finding the language settings option to change from Russian to English.

Insert the DVD into the DVD player and wait for the main menu screen to appear. Some DVDs allow you to skip previews and other preliminary material by pressing the "Menu" button on your remote control.
Find the language settings option or language menu within the main menu by using the arrow keys on your remote control. This option may also be called "Subtitles." Press the "Enter" button on your remote control once you find this option.
Find "English," "English Subtitles" or "English Voice Over" from the available options using the arrow keys on your remote control. Hit "Enter."
