Panasonic joined with one of the foremost makers of optical glass, Leica, to produce a line of compact digital cameras. Models like the TZ-5 sports a 10x optical zoom and wide angle lens in a camera body as compact as most 3x optical zoom cameras from other companies. Panasonic cameras use SD memory cards, and to keep the memory from becoming corrupted, you should format it in the camera.
Press the "Menu" button and use the "Right Arrow" button to scroll to the set-up menu (the wrench icon).
Press the "Down Arrow" until "Forma"t is highlighted. Press the "Right Arrow" to access the sub-menu.
Press the "Down Arrow" until "Yes" is highlighted. Press "Set."
Press "Set" again. All memory will be erased and the memory card will be formatted to that specific camera.
Formatting a memory card means you can't use image recovery software to recover deleted pictures. Before formatting the card, make sure you download all photos to your computer.
