A movie poster is a great tool for marketing a new film. But if you don't have a budget for a graphic designer, then you can make your own online. Whether you are creating one to market your new independent film or you just want to make one for fun, you can save a lot of money by doing it yourself.

Go to a site that will allow you to design posters online, such as Big Huge Labs.
Click on "Choose File" and select the main photo of the poster. Choose the "Style" of the photo. The choices are light, dark and neutral. Select the "Primary Text Color" and the "Title Font."
Write your "Movie Title" and "Tagline 1" and "Tagline 2."
Write the "Acting Credits," "Production Credits," and select the movie "Rating." Choose the "Release Date" and the font colour and click "Create." You will see a sample of the poster. If it's satisfactory, click on "Add to Cart." If not, go back to "Edit."
Click on "Checkout" or "Checkout with PayPal," and enter your appropriate payment details. As of 2010, these posters cost £6.40 plus a £3.20 shipping and handling charge per poster.
