How to Set the Commercial Sound Leveler on the Sony Bravia

Sony Bravia televisions offer a range of special tools designed to enhance your viewing experience. These technologies include Bravia Internet Video, which enables direct-to-TV streaming from a number of content websites, and Bravia Engine, a digital signal processor that helps ensure pristine picture quality. Another tool is Steady Sound, which automatically turns down the volume on loud commercials.

    Turn on your Bravia TV and use the "home" button on your remote to access the menu. The "home" button is right below the directional keypad near the centre of your remote.

    Use the left and right arrows of the directional keypad to select the "settings" menu. Use the up and down arrows to select the "sound" menu. The settings menu is denoted by a toolbox icon; the sound menu is denoted by a musical note icon.

    Scroll to the Steady Sound option. Press "select," then scroll to "Yes" and press "select" again. Press the "home" key to return to watching TV.
