How to Activate a Built in Mic in the Acer Aspire One

The Acer Aspire One is a notebook computer with various built-in features such as a webcam and microphone for audio and video communication. The built-in microphone also can be used for recording. When not in use, the microphone in the Aspire One can be turned off or disabled. It activates by accessing the notebook's Control Panel through the Sounds menu on the Windows operating system that is pre-installed on the Aspire One.

    Click "Start" and select "Control Panel."

    Click "Hardware and Sound" and select "Sound."

    Click "Manage Audio Devices" and select the "Recording" tab at the top of the window.

    Right-click "Show Disabled Devices."

    Click "Enable" next to the microphone icon to activate the Aspire One's built-in microphone.
