Things you need

- Hair clippers
- Edging attachment
Wash the hair with the proper shampoo and conditioner.
Draw an outline on the areas you want to trim using an eyebrow pencil. Mark how far you want the lines to go back. Do this the first few times you trim the hair.
Start trimming with the hair clippers at the nape of the neck. Go slowly and use an upward stroke with the clippers. If you find unevenness along the skin, crosscut by running the clippers diagonally and alternating the direction of the clippers.
Move to the sides of the head to trim the side hairlines. Stay within the lines you drew as a guide. Cut the sides going in one direction, moving up from the hairline.
Gently edge the front to the length you like with the edging attachment of the clippers. Do not pull down the front hair nor make a straight cut to trim the hair.
Trim and smooth any uneven spots along the hairline with the edging attachment.
Wash away the eyebrow pencil marks.
