How to Open the Task Manager on Mac Computers

Windows users are accustomed to accessing the Task Manager to view and manage the tasks currently under way on their computers. On Mac OS X computers, the equivalent of the Task Manager is the Activity Monitor. Like the Task Manager, the Activity Monitor provides information about processes, CPU usage, system memory, disk activity, disk usage and the network.

    Open the "Applications" folder.

    Double-click the "Utilities" folder.

    Double-click the "Activity Monitor" icon. The Activity Monitor launches and opens a window that displays the current processes on the computer.
