Research in Motion provides the BlackBerry Desktop Manager application to sync your BlackBerry phone with your desktop PC. This application includes the Intellisync ASCII translator, which allows you to access your BlackBerry phone and extract your memo pad data in an ASCII export file. This file can be created with tabs or commas as delimiters. When the export is complete, you will have an ASCII text file that can then be imported to a wide variety of PIMs, word processors or spreadsheets. This ASCII format offers the most flexibility to transfer your BlackBerry MemoPad to the device or application that you desire.
Open "BlackBerry Desktop Manager" on your desktop PC, which will open the "Main Menu" window displaying five different action options. Click the "Synchronize" action option, in the centre of the window, to start the export process.
Click the "Configuration" tab from the left side menu tree and click the "Synchronization" button on the right side of the window. This opens the Intellisync set-up window.
Place a check mark in the check box next to "MemoPad" from the list of four choices. Make sure that the other three choices are not checked unless you also want to synchronise those choices now. Click "Setup."
Highlight "ASCII Importer/Exporter" as the translator and select "Next."
Click "Export > Options" and click "Commas" as the delimited value for the exported file. Click "OK."
Click "Browse" under "Database file for ASCII Importer/Exporter connector" to name your new file.
Click "Next > Finish" and you have completed and figuring the synchronisation settings.
Click "OK" to return to the "Synchronize" tab.
Click "Synchronize Organizer Data" option and click "Synchronize Now."
