An STR file is a text based structural definition file used to create printed archive index tables or to determine the structure of the database. The format is associated with the dBase database application. You can buy dBase for £77 at its website to open and edit databases. However, you can easily download the lightweight tool, "Dbase Viewer 1.95," to open STR files for free. You can view files with dBase Viewer but you cannot edit them.
