Xplornet is an Internet Service Provider (ISP) that provides homes and businesses with high-speed broadband Internet and digital phone services. According to Xplornet's website, Xplornet uses a combination of wireless and satellite platform technology to expand its range of service and reach remote customers in rural and suburban areas. You can set up your Xplornet e-mail account using Xplornet's e-mail set-up tool. Once the Xplornet e-mail is configured, you may set your Xplornet e-mail account as the default e-mail account in Outlook Express.

    Visit Xplornet's "e-mail Set Up" website (see "References") to download the email set-up tool. Click "Save" in the download dialogue window to save the file to your desktop.

    Open the Xplornet e-mail set-up tool by double clicking the "XNC" icon on your desktop. Click "Yes" to the "Xplornet Email Congif Setup" to continue.

    Enter your Xplornet username followed by "@xplornet.com" in the "Email" input field and click "OK." Click "OK" in the dialogue window notifying you the email set-up process is complete.

    Open Outlook Express. Enter the password to your Xplornet e-mail account when prompted and click "OK" to add your Xplornet e-mail account to Outlook Express.

    Access the "Tools" menu in Outlook Express to select "Accounts." Select your Xplornet e-mail account from the list of e-mail accounts and click "Make Default" to make your Xplornet the default e-mail account in Outlook Express.

Tips and warnings

  • Save the Xplornet e-mail set-up tool if you would like to add additional Xplornet e-mail accounts to Outlook Express in the future.
