Storing comics on your computer, or reading them online, is a great way to make your collection of comic books portable. However, it may be illegal to download free copies of a comic without the author or the publishing company's consent. In some cases, if you own a physical copy of the comic, you are then entitled to a digital copy as well. There are web pages available where you can read sections of the comics as a preview.
