How to Use Firefox With Microsoft Outlook Web Access

Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA), the webmail client for accessing Exchange Servers, is generally incompatible with Mozilla Firefox. Microsoft developed the Outlook Web App so that it will only fully work with Internet Explorer, offering a limited edition for users who use other web browsers. With the installation of the IETab Firefox extension (which mimics Internet Explorer when necessary) however, you should be able to use Firefox with OWA with more functionality.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Navigate to the IE tab add-ons extension page on the Firefox Mozilla website. Click to "Install" the extension. Restart Firefox when prompted.

  2. 2

Click "Tools," then click "IETab Options."

  3. 3

Enter the URL of the OWA that you are trying to access into the field for URLs that IETab will interrupt. Click "Save" to save the settings.

  4. 4

Navigate to the website Outlook Web Access that you want to use, and you will notice that the browsing tab switches to mimic Internet Explorer. You should now be able to access a nearly complete OWA in Firefox.
