How do I Use My Timer Settings on My Sony TV?

The timer function of your Sony television is a handy tool that allows you to limit the amount of time your television will run. By using the sleep timer function, you can program your television to turn off within a selected time period. By employing the timer function on your Sony television you can set it shut off in 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes. This can come in handy if you like to fall asleep with your television turned but wish to limit the amount of electricity used.

Power on your television by pressing the Power button on your televisions remote control.

Press the "Sleep" button located at the top of your remote control. This will cause the sleep timer display to appear on the television with a number.

Repeatedly press the "Sleep" button on your remote control until the desired time-frame is displayed. The available options are 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes.

Press the "Ok" or "Select" button on your remote control when the desired time is displayed on the television. Your television will now automatically power down when the chosen amount of time has passed.
