The HTC TyTN II smartphone, also known as the HTC Kaiser, is a Windows Mobile smartphone. As such, installing applications on a TyTN II is a straightforward process, although there are two different installation methods that can be used. Connect the TyTN II to your computer using a USB cable. Plug the mini-USB end of the cable into the TyTN II and plug the larger USB "A" end of the cable into the computer. ActiveSync launches automatically.
Download the ".exe" file for the software you want to install on the TyTN II. Navigate your computer's Web browser to the website that links to the ".exe" file you want to download.
Save the ".exe" to an easily accessible folder on your computer, such as the desktop.
Locate the ".exe" file on your computer and double click it to launch the installer, which first copies necessary installation files to your computer.
Select the installation location for the program using your HTC TyTN II. You can install the program to the internal memory on your TyTN or to the SD card if one is installed in the phone.
Click "Install" to copy the program to your TyTN. Your Kaiser's screen displays a progress bar that shows the percentage completion of the installation.
Click "Yes" when asked to restart Windows Mobile, if necessary. Not all applications require you to restart your HTC TyTN II.
Open the "Start" menu and verify that the application is properly installed. Click the application name to launch it and verify it works.
Executable File Installation (.exe)
Download the ".cab" file that includes the application you want to download from the Internet. Open Internet Explorer or your Web browser of choice on the TyTN II and enter the Web address that links to the .cab file. Alternatively, you can type the full URL of the ".cab" file to download it directly to your device.
Select a download destination for the ".cab" file and press the "Save" button on the screen to save the ".cab" file to your TyTN II.
Navigate to the ".cab" file by selecting "File Explorer" after clicking on the "Start" menu in Windows Mobile.
Select the file using your touchscreen and press the "Enter" key on the TyTN II keyboard. The ".cab" installer launches automatically. Watch the on-screen progress bar to monitor installation progress.
Delete the ".cab" file by pressing and holding over the file name in File Explorer. Select "Delete" from the options that appear in the pop-up options menu.
