Today's printers are capable of letting you know when the ink reserves are running low or empty in your cartridges. You will receive a warning when you go to print a document and a message will appear on the printer display. Once you remove the old cartridge and replace it with a fresh one, the ink cartridge memory will be reset. This will help prevent you from running out of ink during an important printing project.

Open the cartridge cover to expose the ink cartridges.
Remove the empty ink cartridge.
Insert the new ink cartridge, pressing down until it snaps into place. Use the arrows on the front of the cartridge to align the cartridge in the right direction. They should point to the front of the printer. Make sure that the colour on the cartridge matches the colour label on the ink cartridge slot.
Press "Enter" on the front of the printer after all of the cartridges are installed.
