Changing the Subscriber Identity Module, or SIM, card in your Lenovo ThinkPad T400 laptop lets you change the wireless network or mobile broadband account associated with the wireless wide area network card installed in the computer. The 3G WWAN modem in the T400 lets you access the Internet wherever there is a mobile connection from a Global System for Mobile Communications, or GSM, carrier with which you have an account. The Lenovo T400 is not locked to a single carrier, so it can be moved between cellphone carriers as you travel, allowing for international mobile broadband access.
