How do I block & unblock caller ID when making outgoing calls?
Blocking and unblocking caller ID is simple. (phone image by MichaelJordan from Fotolia.com)

With the dawn of caller ID in the 1990s, the person receiving a telephone call can know who is calling because the caller's telephone number displays. Most phones have built-in caller ID now, but it used to be a separate machine. Because some people want to keep their personal information private, though, especially when calling unfamiliar people or companies, they seek an option that allows them to prevent the recipient of their calls to know who's calling, to block caller ID. Other people may need to unblock their number to reach a person whose phone denies access to unknown callers.
