Things you need
- Witch hazel
- cotton ball
- Spirit gum
- Halloween face make-up
- Vampire fangs
- Spirit gum remover
- Cotton swab
Clean your face to remove any dirt or oils which may prevent the spirit glue from adhering properly. Wipe your clean face with witch hazel or an astringent applied to a cotton ball to ensure that all of the oil has been removed.
Apply a small amount of spirit gum to the centre of your forehead, between your eyes. Let the spirit gum dry until it becomes tacky. When it is ready, it will feel very sticky and pull away from your forehead in tiny strings when you tap it with your finger.
Place googly eyes on the spirit glue and press them down firmly. Use as many or as few googly eyes as you like to create the appearance of a spider face with multiple eyes.
Take a small amount of Derma Wax and roll it into a thin tube between your fingers. Arrange this tube between the googly eyes and flatten it to slightly cover the edges of the eyes. This will help hold the eyes in place and blend them into your skin. Continue to apply the Derma Wax around all of the eyes and smooth down the edges.
Apply a coat of Halloween face make-up to your entire face and the Derma Wax with a sponge applicator. You can use any colour of make-up to match your spider costume. If any make-up gets on the googly eyes, wipe it away gently with a tissue.
Wear a pair of vampire fangs to complete your frightening spider face.
Tips and warnings
- Remove the googly eyes by applying spirit gum remover with a cotton swab until the eyes slide off gently. Tearing the googly eyes away from your face could cause skin irritation and pain.
