Word 2007 checks the spelling of a document according to the dictionary language you set. The Microsoft Office 2007 suite comes in 37 localised versions that include proofing tools in languages specific to different locations. You are able to return the dictionary language to English after it has been changed to a different language.
Click the “Review” tab in the Microsoft Word ribbon at the top of the window.
Go to the “Proofing” menu and press the “Set Language” icon. It appears as a globe with a book and a red check mark.
Click on the “English” dictionary. Several versions of English may be available. Choose the one appropriate to your location.
Press the “Default” button to change the dictionary language to English.
