The option for setting the internal clock on Samsung 42" televisions is buried within a complex menu system. If you don't set your clock, you may receive a pop-up reminder message each time the TV is powered on. This problem can be fixed by accessing the TV's set-up menu and setting the time.

Turn the TV on. On the remote control, press the "Menu/Setup" button. A series of icons will appear on the left side of the screen.
Press the down arrow on your remote until the icon labelled "Setup" is highlighted. It will also be labelled "Plug & Play" in the text column to the right of the icon. Press "Select" on your remote.
Navigate down the menu using the down arrow on your remote and select "Time." Press the "Select" button. The previous menu will disappear and a new "Time" display box will appear.
Highlight and select "Clock." This will bring up a new text box labelled "Clock." Beneath that will be a text label titled "Clock Mode." By default this mode is set to "Auto." Press the select button on your remote and choose "Manual" from the list.
Using the down arrow on your remote, highlight the "Clock Set" option and press "Select." This will bring up the "Clock Set" text box.
Using the arrow keys on your remote, select the correct month, day, year, hour, minute and a.m. or p.m. Once the correct time is set, press the "Exit" button on your remote.
