WebDAV is a protocol that allows users to connect to shared drives over the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) system. The Internet Information Services (IIS) utility has WebDAV installed, but it is disabled by default. Therefore, if the administrator wants to allow network users to map to network drives using HTTP, he must enable the WebDAV protocol first. This is a quick set-up in your IIS system manager.
