The iPhone is a touch-screen smart phone released by Apple Inc. in 2007. Since its release, it has sold over 41 million units (as of December 2009). It's full of features, including a built-in YouTube application, built-in iTunes (to download music straight to your phone), Wi-Fi connectivity, a camera, an accelerometer and much more. But as advanced and complex as the iPhone is, it's really quite simple to open. All you'll need are a couple of basic tools and you can pop it open in no time.
- Skill level:
Things you need
- Small flathead screwdriver
- Small suction cup
Use your flathead screwdriver to unscrew the screws at the bottom of the phone, near the recharge port.
Put the iPhone in the palm of one hand and stick the suction cup to its screen with your other hand. Grip the bottom section of the phone tightly.
Pull on the suction cup while holding the iPhone. Pull with some strength, but not too hard. Wiggle it around a bit to loosen the two ends. After a minute the two halves should come apart and your iPhone will be open.
