How to Burn an MKV File in Nero 9

An MKV is a type of video file in the Mastroska multimedia format. MKVs are similar to other container formats such as AVI and MOV. The Nero Burning ROM included in the Nero 9 Multimedia Suite features the necessary tools required for burning MKV and similar files to CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs. The burn process for Nero 9 can be completed in a few steps.

    Insert a blank CD or DVD into the computer's disc drive. Wait for the disc to be recognised by the computer, and close the "Auto Play" window that appears on the screen. Open Nero 9 Burning ROM.

    Click on the drop-down menu in the corner of the "New Compilation" interface, and select either CD or DVD. Choose the type of disc you want to burn in the selection window beneath the drop-down menu. Click on the "New" button to open the selection interface.

    Open the folder that contains the MKV file you want to burn in the "Browser" section in the right window. Click on the file, and drag it into the disc compilation section on the left side of the screen.

    Click on the "Burn" button on the toolbar to open the "Burn A Compilation" window. Set any preferences for your burner in the tabs on the right side of the window. Click on the "Burn" button to initiate the burn process. The program will notify you once the burn is finished.
