- Skill level:
Things you need
- 28.4gr. Lanette O wax
- 236ml. distilled water
- 56.7gr. soy butter
- 29.6ml. vegetable glycerine
- 2 Glass bowls (340gr. each)
- Hand mixer
- 354ml. bottle with lotion pump
Add the soy butter and distilled water to one of the glass bowls. Add the Lanette O wax to the other glass bowl. Lanette O wax is a soft, gentle emulsifying wax that contains cetyl alcohol in an amount safe for skin and haircare recipes.
Microwave each bowl, separately, for two minutes each. This heats the oils and waters together and melts the wax.
Mix the oil and water with a hand mixer at medium speed.
Drizzle the melted Lanette O wax into the bowl of hot oil and water. Beat the mixture continuously until all of the wax has been added.
Increase the speed on the hand mixer and mix the contents of the bowl for about five minutes. As you mix, the consistency of the solution will be white, foamy and runny.
Add the vegetable glycerine, which can be purchased from a craft and hobby store, to the mixture as you beat for an additional two minutes.
Pour the warm mixture into the lotion bottle. Let it sit uncovered for about 20 minutes. The mixture will thicken to a lotion consistency. Secure the lid on the lotion bottle.
