Chess.exe is malware targeted against chess players. Computer systems are typically infected using an advertisement for a new chess simulator that offers a cash award to the best player. Once installed, the malware attempts to hijack your system to serve chess-related advertisements. It will also make use of your Internet connection and force it to post chess advertisements using your personal accounts at a number of chess websites and chat rooms. The infected files can be easily removed.
