Counter-Strike 1.6 is a popular first-person shooter computer game. Originally a modification of Valve Software's award-winning Half Life game, Counter-Strike exploded with popularity and has been a standard for online shooter games. Counter-Strike games are hosted online through the Steam platform, a downloadable client that connects its users to online games as well as a community of other gamers. Dedicated servers for Counter-Strike must be configured with certain features that allow for compatibility with the Steam client.
