Modern computers, like Ricoh computers, are used in offices worldwide. Even though these machines are efficient and useful, they need to be maintained on a regular basis. One way to maintain your Ricoh printer is by replacing the waste toner bottle whenever it is full. The waste toner bottle catches excess toner not used on the page and stores it. The good news is that accessing and removing a used waste toner bottle on your printer is a relatively easy process that won't take up more than a moment of your time.

  1. 1

Look on your Ricoh's LED display to verify that it reads: "Waste Toner (Type E)." This will confirm that your waste toner cartridge does indeed need to be removed.

  2. 2

Turn off the printer and remove the power cable from whichever outlet it is plugged in to. It is important to make sure the device is off when removing any components because any active internal moving parts of the printer can make it difficult to complete the process.

  3. 3

Open the front panel of the printer by pulling it slowly down from the top corners. The internal components and compartments of the printer will now be accessible.

  4. 4

Locate the plastic waste toner bottle in the bottom of the compartment. It is a bottle about the size of a soda can and will be labelled "Waste Toner."

  5. 5

Slide the bottle gently out of the compartment in a level manner to prevent spillage. The waste toner bottle is now removed and you can insert a new one in your printer.
