The Acer Aspire M1641 is a desktop computer that comes pre-installed with the Windows Vista Home Premium operating system. If you are not a fan of the Windows Vista operating system, you can downgrade to the Windows XP operating system. Since Windows XP was never installed on the Acer Aspire M1641, you can only install Windows XP on the computer if you have a full copy installation disk. This means that you will not have to reformat the hard drive and can just downgrade to XP without reformatting.
